ELLI
Elli is a dance work about and with Elli Närhi who suffers from
dystonia, neurological movement disorder.
When the illness is inside the body, invisible, one can live with it without disturbing others. Without causing the feelings of pity, which are often so unnecessary. Without the problem of encounter, when people don’t know how to behave. The ill can hide the illness inside.
Elli’s illness is visible. It can not be hidden. Elli can stay at home with her illness, withdraw away in shame. Or she can go public with it. In order to speak, cry, shout and laugh about it
Performers Ellli Närhi, Titta Court
Choreography Titta Court
Sound Taito Kantomaa
Elli is part of a larger project called ELLI – The Cross Art Documentary which consists also Video portrait by Antti Haase, multimedia 44 x Elli by Jaakko Heikkilä and ceramics by Elli Närhi.
